People are drawn to Horizon West because of its close proximity to Disney among other reasons. Of course, no town or city is perfect, and there are several disadvantages of Horizon West that may be a big deal breaker for you. We’re going to share those pros and cons with you so you can have insight into living in Horizon West.

Advantages of Living in Horizon West

1.) There’s something for everyone.

One of the advantages to living in Horizon West is the availability of a wide range of entertainment. Besides the obvious (the theme parks), there are outdoor recreational options, like golfing and hiking. There are movie theaters, like Cinépolis, a luxury dine-in movie theater in Hamlin Town Center. If you love retail therapy, there are a TON of shopping options. And if you LOVE food (which, who doesn’t?) there are lots of restaurant options in the area.

2.) It has natural and architectural beauty.

Do you dream about living in a neighborhood nestled amidst lush green parks and picturesque lakes? Or maybe you dream about the perfect craftsman-style home with a front porch and rocking chairs to relax. Horizon West can certainly check each of these boxes. Each of the neighborhood villages that make up Horizon West offers a range of beautiful home options, from townhouses to single family homes. And all of the neighborhoods have large green spaces, parks, and lakes that provide its residents with gorgeous scenery.

3.) Convenience, convenience, convenience.

Disadvantages of Living in Horizon West

1.) There can be inconveniences with construction development.

While some of the neighborhoods of Horizon West are still under construction, it also means dealing with temporary inconveniences such as construction noise, detours, landscape disarray, or construction debris. However, once the neighborhood is completed, it’s amazing to live in a brand new, polished community.

2.) Home Prices

Because the area has become so desirable, the cost of purchasing a home has increased considerably. This factor may impact your budget.

But it’s also important to remember that real estate in Horizon West (like much of the Greater Orlando area) has historically held its value. Purchasing a home here can definitely be seen as a great long-term investment.

3 .) Traffic Congestion

One of the primary concerns in Horizon West is the issue of traffic congestion. As the area grows and develops, increase in population has led to some heavier traffic on some of the main roads.

On the other hand, it’s worth noting that the area developers are constantly working on their infrastructure improvements, and traffic isn’t that bad compared to other more populated areas in the greater Orlando area.

We hope this serves as a guide that you can reflect on as you consider whether moving to Horizon West is right for you.
